Salleyland comprises 100 acres of private property located in Orangeburg County, South Carolina, north of Springfield and southeast of Salley. Goodland Creek, a tributary of the South Edisto River, traverses the property, flowing from north to south. Salleyland is 10 miles east of the Aiken Gopher Tortoise Heritage Preserve/Wildlife Management Area.

Salleyland is located in South Carolina. along the border of Aiken and Orangeburg counties.

The South Carolina Forestry Commission stewardship plan has identified general habitat types based on soil features, topography, and vegetation. Of these, microhabitats within the study site include a second order blackwater stream (Goodland Creek), floodplain swamp of water tupelo and sphagnum mats, open fields and sandhill with longleaf pine, mixed hardwood and pine upland forest. The soils include sand and loam.
